Spinlock: A secure soloution to a costly problem.
Cooper Engineering came up with the solution when a large PLC was targeted by thieves who made off with £5 million of Broadband equipment in just one night back in 2008.
The PLC urgently needed mechanical methods of securing the company’s valuable equipment following a string of burglaries that caused widespread disruption to customers.
Cooper Engineering’s cost effective solution was Spinlock, a unique security fastener developed by the company after winning a innovation award sponsored by MWMG, formerly Mid Wales Manufacturing Group and the former Welsh Development Agency in 2002.
The company modified the security fastener to become the PLC Spinlock, which is owned and is exclusive to the PLC. Other variations of the product are available from Cooper Engineering, who can modify the design too meet specific customer requirements.
At a price of £15 per £80,000 of equipment protected, various cost-effective, anti-theft devices have been designed and manufactured by Cooper Engineering. The results have been staggering with the PLC reporting reduced break-ins.
